We’re big fans of QR codes, and with the increasing prevalence or QR inside the United States, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite QR readers for Android, iPhone, and Blackberry mobile platforms.
These QR readers can be found by accessing the Android Marketplace, iPhone App store, or Blackberry Market and performing a simple search for the name.
Android
Google Goggles (Free) - This has to be our top pick across the board thanks to it’s multi-platform support, quick response time, and flexibility in search.
Lynkee Barcode Reader (Free) - Former Top Pick – Sorry Lynkee – For Android, Google has you kicked.
Barcode Scanner (Free) - A no-frills classic QR code reader. Super fast load time.
QR Droid (Free) - Not good for trying to scan a QR code quickly, however the app itself allows you to create QR codes from your mobile device. (Including geo-location tagged QR codes)
iPhone
QR Reader for iPhone (Free) – By far one of the best QR readers for iPhone – it’s ULTRA fast to load up, has an enormous amount of features, and it’s free!
Lynkee Barcode Reader (Free) – See above (Multi-platform support)
QR Scanner (Free) – By far the ugliest of the QR scanners, but it almost always works. You don’t need the QR code centered, it loads quickly, and it’s free!
Blackberry
(Pssst! Time to get a new phone!)
Lynkee Barcode Reader (Free) – See above (Multi-platform support)
QuickMark (Free) – One of the originals, and it still works very well. Frequent updates and improvements.
BeeTagg (Free) – Another strong contender for Blackberry, though may load slowly on older models.
